Google 快迅:“阿里巴巴”何时奔向美国股市

这篇新闻引用的很多数据显然是比较旧的,但是其中的观点还是很到位的:阿里巴巴肯定暂时不上市.当然,我个人认为暂时不上市不代表阿里巴巴不想上市.


阿里巴巴的财务顾问、香港商业银行Seraphin Capitall Limited 的John Chi表示,阿里巴巴准备保持独立性,先扩充自己的实力,然后再寻求去美国上市。

近日,美国《福布斯》杂志中,一篇关于淘宝网与 eBay 之争的文章,再次使人们的目光聚焦在 1998 年底才创建的阿里巴巴,这个目前全球最大的网上贸易市场。

经过不到 7 年的发展,阿里巴巴全球员工已达 800 余人,注册用户数已经突破 400 万,并且成为全球首家拥有 210 万商人的电子商务网站,不仅如此,阿里巴巴已被商人们评为“最受欢迎的B2B网站”,即企业对企业的交易平台。

在极尽扩张之能之后,阿里巴巴如今似乎站在了一个岔路口上。许多人也开始揣测其下一步该如何走,是上市,还是以一个好价钱把自己给“卖”了?

淘宝的发展让 eBay 感到害怕

《福布斯》杂志评论总部设在香港的阿里巴巴时指出,“如果马云管理下的淘宝和全球最大的 B2B 网站阿里巴巴能得到充分发展的话,那么它们将最终占领全球在线拍卖市场。”

事实上,在过去的一年中,淘宝的发展让 eBay 感到害怕。尽管淘宝网在 eBay 进入中国一年后才开始启动,但发展速度极快,已经成长为 eBay 在中国的最大竞争对手。

据华尔街日报公布的数字显示,2004 年,阿里巴巴的交易业务产生了 2500 万美元的自由现金流和 4600 万美元的销售额。预计今年该公司的交易规模和销售额将增长近一倍。

另外,如果以年度成交总额GMV这个指标来衡量,淘宝网 2004 年初时在中国在线拍卖市场上的占有率仅为9%,eBay占有率则高达90%。但到 2004 年年底时淘宝网的占有率已急剧攀升至41%。

正是这种发展态势直接导致了 eBay 宣布斥资1亿美元开拓中国市场,以提升其在中国市场的影响力。eBay 高层在今年早些时候曾对华尔街分析师表示,不管付出多大代价,eBay 在中国市场“必须赢”,因为中国有可能是其在全球网络市场取得成功的决定性因素。

毕竟,中国是一个蕴藏着无限机遇的市场。从现阶段的消费习惯和热情来看,中国人显然还无法望其美国人的项背——据摩根士丹利统计数据表示,在美国,个人消费占国民经济的比例高达71%,在中国只有42%,但 13 亿人口这个天文数字寓意着中国很可能成为继美国之后的又一个消费大国。

从这个角度上来说,阿里巴巴选择继续在中国市场上巩固其基础,是无可厚非的。Chi表示,阿里巴巴目前并无公开上市或者出售自己的计划,任何这方面的考虑至少要等到一年之后。

马云:阿里巴巴暂不上市

用马云(阿里巴巴主席兼CEO)的话说,阿里巴巴“成熟”了,在一浪高过一浪的网络热潮中冷静了下来,因此,尽管“有一段时间很想上市,但如今条件成熟了,上市的欲望却没有了……”这在马云看来是种策略。

马云认为,对于一个企业来说,阿里巴巴还只是一个“幼儿”,今后的路还长着呢!“而且,阿里巴巴现在也不缺钱,我们盈利已经 3 年了。”虽然坊间纷纷推测投资者的耐心,但马云声称“投资方非常开心”,而且阿里巴巴“未来的五至十年不需要再增加一分钱的投资”。

就在竞争对手一亿美金重兵压境的情况下,阿里巴巴的不上市策略是否行得通呢?对此马云曾表示,“大股东都要求我们不要上市,因为我们像上市前的 Google 一样,正是处于收入快速增长的企业,如果不是出于对员工的考虑,我实在不需要通过上市来证明自己。”

马云还表示,“公司不上市,我可以永远做自己想做的事情,而如果上了市,我就必须做股东想做的事情,而老实说,我对给华尔街打工兴趣不大。”

阿里巴巴有“概念”可炒

尽管“主帅”口口声声称不想上市,但随着企业的规模不断扩大、业务领域不断出新,永远不依靠资本市场是不太现实的事情。而假如阿里巴巴想登陆股市的话,其有概念可炒是不可否认的事实。

华尔街日报在近日的评论中指出,阿里巴巴正依托于中国这个全球增长最快的经济体,同时又置身于最炙手可热的消费领域,在如火如荼的“奔跑”中,如何知道自己的身价呢?

把自己“卖”了,似乎是一个简便直接的办法,但很显然,这个办法对于想持续发展的阿里巴巴来说,似乎显得有些疯狂。当然,凭现在的阿里巴巴,找个买家是不成问题的,例如,2005 年用于中国业务的投资达1亿美元的eBay,或者雅虎,或者像盛大这种国内传媒豪门等,都极有可能成为阿里巴巴的潜在买家。

而先壮大自己的实力,然后走上市之路,似乎才是阿里巴巴应该走的路。另外,由于现在中国概念股正日益受到追捧,股东们也愿意对那些节俭持家的中国企业进行投资,因此,如果阿里巴巴上市的话,将会预期有比较可观的收益。

综观互联网发展的历史,那些各个具体领域中的“领头羊”在刚刚登陆股市时,都是极有概念可炒的,搜狐、新浪、盛大、携程等都是很明显的例子。而作为电子商务中的突起异军,阿里巴巴无疑将以不可替代的地位吸引众多的投资者,而且,可能带来比过去高很多的“出价”。

尤其在阿里巴巴于最近几个月推出了“网上支付宝”之后,在支付这一环节上,阿里巴巴又跑赢了eBay。

与支付宝日渐受到欢迎形成鲜明对比的是,eBayPayPal 尚未在中国推出。eBay的发言人克里斯·唐雷表示,“Paypal 的推出要符合公司的发展需要,我们尚未决定何时将 Paypal 引入中国。”

Chi表示,即便进入中国,PayPal 也不会给中国的交易者带来安全感。阿里巴巴淘宝网坚信,与时下盛行的观点正好相反,安全感或许是阻碍电子商务在中国市场发展的最大障碍。

对于中国的交易者而言,支付宝的托管特色看来投其所好。根据支付宝的第三方托管运作机制,买家把资金汇往支付宝的一个合作银行,合作银行起到托管人的作用。只有在合作银行和支付宝确认资金已经到达托管帐户里面之后,支付宝才会向卖家发出可以发货的通知。Chi表示,通过为买卖双方提供技术解决方案以及与银行的合作,支付宝起到了不偏不倚的监督作用。

除了支付宝的普及将创造更多的收入之外,随着客户群的不断壮大以及持续完善客户服务,阿里巴巴和淘宝网还会发现新的收入增长点。例如,阿里巴巴刚刚推出了一个面向国内商户的关键词搜索业务,为商户们获得更多交易信息提供了便利。

DBAzine 终于改版了.

10g 的频道还在

现在整个站点也和 Blog 一样,采用 Plone 来做 CMS .看上去结构似乎很好 :) 其实 Plone 做 Blog 的确不是长处,但是做内容管理系统还是一流的.

闲下来的时候(希望能闲下来)打算给公司技术人员做个内容管理系统,目前 Plone 是一个可选项.

五四青年节

今天是五四青年节!

教科书上的五四青年节对我们来说还是有点遥远的,我对五四青年第一次开始真正有印象的是高中的时候教语文的陈老师,到了冬天最喜欢围一个白色围脖,身材高大.着急的时候说话有点口吃

陈老师有个外号就是"五四青年",给他起这个外号的是我们的历史老师,一个豪爽的大姐,说话声音很洪亮,记得那节课说到 5.4 青年的时候,刚好陈老师从外面经过,历史老师用手指点一下,说,五四青年就这样的! 哄堂大笑

历史老师姓白,板书写得不算好,但是很有力道.历史老实给我印象最深的一句话是:狭路相逢勇者胜。我还曾经把这句话写到了历史书的天眉上,现在还忘不了。

历史老师给我们讲过现实的五四青年和历史中的五四青年,但是我觉得历史中的五四青年肯定不够真实--因为我感觉那不是真实--的确不够真实

当自己渐渐长大,看过更多的书,思考过更多之后,发现,我们对五四青年节的定位不在于时间本身有什么内容,不在乎那天究竟发生了什么,而在于我们怎么看这件事情的积极影响

是的,五四青年们也许看事情没有我们现在“透”,但是至少他们有热情,敢于流血,这是今天很多人做不到的。放眼今天,青年们或许关注更多的是,柴米油盐,有没有房子车子,老婆票子。也许,这也是我们需要纪念那一天的一个原因吧。

"德先生"和"赛先生",现在已经很少有人把这个作为口号提起来了,或者说起来也是一种调侃。现在人们更需要“钱先生”和“Sex”先生的

这就是我们社会的进步吧
